The Thomasville Bulldogs kicked off 2010 with a dominating 49-13 win over the Cox Mill Chargers Friday night in Concord.

Tailback Quin Riley reached the end zone three times while Edwin Allen scored twice and Kesean Green once. Chris Ross also scored after scooping up a fumble.

Allen Brown not succesful? What have you been smoking? AB may have his quirks (we all do), but he has brought Thomasville much enjoyment in the Fall for over 35 years! If the talent is in the players, then why has Lexington not been as succesfull? They have the same type talent there. Nobody knows high school football like AB! Whether he talks to the media or not, he is still coaching the kids each week and working as hard as he ever has. You take Allen Brown away from the program and watch it suffer! The only reason it did not when he left before is becasue Benjie was coaching and AB still had a hand in it.

The first mistake was bringing Allen Brown back to coach the team. The talent is in the kids not the leadership(coaching). I recommend that all games be covered in the future and not to play childish games with Allen Brown. He is a control freak and that why he was not successful at the collegiate level. Ballplayer 82.

A good distance, A 45 minute drive. Not that close??? What's that got to do with doing your job. Truth be told, you two took the easy way out and did the 2 closest games. No excuse for the

->THOMASVILLE<- Times not covering the

->THOMASVILLE<- Bulldogs. As close as the East and Ledford games were you know good and well one man could cover both games and one go to Concord. I hope your staff enjoyed your little vacation this week as I'm sure you will lose some customers because of it. It will really be hard to cover all three with just one of you. On another note. As a faithful subscriber to the Thomasville and High Point papers let me say this also. I have seen lots of high school coverage in these papers from July to the start of the season year in and year out. The last 2 have been outright horrible. It seems that either someone has gotten lazy in the sports department or they have a greater love for baseball. Subscribers want to see there local sports in there local paper, and it seems to me that you sports staff has not done a good job with that here in the recent couple of years. You need to do better if you want customers who buy for mostly sports. That would be the majority of the male population and a lot of females too.

Let me start by saying we like to hear from our readers whether the opinions are good or bad. You are our audience and we listen to everything you have to say.

Second, I completely understand how it would seem that we did not cover Thomasville's game at Cox Mill on Friday because of the current situation, but truth be told, that had nothing to do with it. Since the Bulldogs were playing a good distance away and the game was not expected to be too close, the sports staff decide a few weeks ago that we would just cover Ledford as our second game, since the Panthers usually get the short end of the football coverage.

This was the only THS game we planned to miss, and I intend to keep it that way. We will have someone at Mt. Airy this Friday to provide a complete game story.

Lastly, the reason a final score was not provided in the paper is because the report was not called in until after our 11 p.m. deadline.

I hope this clears up a few things for everyone. The sports staff enjoys covering the Bulldogs as well as our other teams. These are great kids and deserve to be in the paper, and we will do our best to continue to give them the coverage they deserve.

I have been going to these games for over 50 years. This is the worst article I have seen in that period of time. I understand why Coach Brown is not talking to you. The Lexington Dispatch covers Thomasville football better than their own newspaper. Isn't that ironic. You realize the kids are still out there playing and need your support as well. It is bad enough not to even get the JV scores, but this has got to get better. It can't get any worse.

This is a horrible excuse for an article. Like others have said it's not that far of a trip to Concord to cover this game. There is no excuse not to cover the hometown team that this newspaper is for. Even without Coach Brown not talking to reporters other coaches have been made available to speak to them as well as the players so I don't even understand how that could be a problem. I can assure you that many Bulldog subscribers have dropped the HPE because of the lack of articles concerning this issue and many more will probably drop this paper too.

It was bad enough when you printed the American Flag backwards one year but now you're alienating all the Thomasville Bulldog Fans and punishing the football players, who by the way do an awesome job week to week playing a game they love. Enough is enough so I will not be renewing my subscription to your paper or the High Point Enterprise and I am urging all of my fellow Bulldog Fans to do the same! If you want to play these childish games you'll have to play them without any readers.

I agree, there is no article, here or in the paper. Sorry excuse for a sports section on Saturday. I see the Ledford game, the East game, but NO THOMASVILLE, in the THOMASVILLE paper. Please don't even try to use the dead line excuse. This trip to Concord down I-85 at 70mph is on a 45 minute trip. plenty of time for a story. I say that because of games of greater distance in the Saturday paper before. Again, Sorry excuse of a sports section. I see this one more time and I will not renew my paper, Thomasville or High Point.

I understand that you have to prove a point, but two wrongs don't make a right. Give the kids a chance despite the leadership that they are forced to follow.

Great article, oh wait, there is no article.
