Investigation yields huge pot bust

A joint investigation between Davidson County and High Point police led to a big drug bust Tuesday.

According to a Davidson County Sheriff’s Office press release, detectives with the Vice Narcotics Unit and High Point Police Department conducted a drug investigation at 195 new Castle Court. During the search, detectives seized approximately 172 pounds or marijuana, a pistol and multiple items of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives arrested Adrianna Yanet Rodriguez, 29, of 195 new Castle Court, and charged her with trafficking marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Valdez was issued a $100,000 secured bond.

Man charged with sexual exploitation of a child

A Randolph County man was arrested Wednesday and charged with more than 70 counts of sexual exploitation of a child in relation to child pornography.

According to a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office press release, on May 24, detectives executed a search warrant at 6623 Kennedy Road in Trinity as part of an investigation into the illegal trade of child pornography on the Internet. The search led to the seizure of two computers, various items of electronic media, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Detectives also located digital files containing known child pornography on a desktop computer. Timothy Daniel Reed, 21, of the same address, was arrested Wednesday and charged with 72 counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a child, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $250,000 secured bond. RCSO is still actively investigating the case.
