CCC announces all-conference teams

The Central Carolina 2-A Conference has announced its All-CCC teams for the winter sports season.
In girls basketball, East Davidson's Bayley Plummer was named Player of the Year while Lexington's Alexis Fowler was runner-up. Don Corry of East was named top coach. Others from the Golden Eagles making the team were Lori Morgan, Jennifer Welborn and Madi Hallman. Thomasville placed Christina Coleman and Jashana Thomas on the all-CCC team.
In boys basketball, Thomasville placed Cedric Green on the team and he was joined by East's Cody Bowers. Michael Conner of North Rowan was the top player and Lexington's Jon Weavil got the nod as top coach.
In girls swimming, East Davidson had Marina Moore named runner-up for top swimmer, just behind Salisbury's McKenzie Stevens.
Making the CCC team in events were the following:
Marina Moore (EDHS) 1st in 50 free.
Blakely Fahning (EDHS) 2nd in 100 butterfly.
Marina Moore (EDHS) 1st in 100 free.
200 Free Relay: Blakely Fahning, Elizabeth Fitzgerald, Carley Murphy, Marina Moore (EDHS).
Cole Riggan of Lexingon was the top swimmer for the boys.
Thomasville wrestling capped off a 2-A state championship run by placing several on the CCC team. Ahsan Butt shared top wrestler honors with West Davidson's Shane Hemmings and Lexington's Zack Mauldin. Richard Herman of THS was named Coach of the Year. Other Bulldogs receiving honors were state champion Ray-Shun Moore, Tra-Von Moore, Hiygee Martin, Jason Boutsady, Kyree Colson, Brett Hokenson, Trevor Billie, Evan Makupson, Antonio Briseno and Keith Clemons.
East placed Chris Coble, Gage Love, Chase Robinson and David Causey on the team.
