Legendary coach Brown receives honor

Legendary High School football coach Allen Brown, recently added another accolade to his long list of achievements at Thomasville High School, being named to the “100 To Remember” list as part of a celebration of the centennial of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association.
The list highlights top coaches in the history of the NCHSAA, dating back to 1913. A committee that included school administrators, coaches and sports media helped in comprising the list. It is the second of four lists to be released by the NCHSAA to celebrate the 100-year history. In the spring, the association honored 100 athletics administrators. Coming in the future will be lists representing the most memorable male and female athletes.
Brown’s career began in 1972 at Thomasville. He has been a part of championship teams at the school in 1988, 1991, 1995, 2004-06 and 2008. Coach Brown has amassed an impressive record of 326-93-2 as the head man of the Bulldogs.
