The HiToms Baseball franchise announced Monday the signing of Clemson University right-hander Brody Koerner.
Koerner, a freshman from Concord, has appeared in nine games for the Tigers, including four as a starter. Compiling a 1-1 record to go along with a 2.67 ERA, Koerner has worked 27 innings for the Tigers.  Allowing 14 runs (eight earned) in 27 IP, the pre-business major has struck out 27 opponents while allowing just 21 hits and .214 opponent's batting average.
A two-time, all-state selection and region pitcher of the year, Koerner returns to the Piedmont where he prepped at Concord's Jay M. Robinson High School.  Lettering in baseball, basketball and football at Robinson High School, Koerner was rated in 2012 as the Tar Heel state's No. 5 high school prospect by Baseball America.
