MPC All-Conference: Best snatches softball MVP honors

Ledford’s Ashley Best completed a terrific softball career by taking home Player of the Year honors in the Mid-Piedmont Conference. A standout for four years, Best has signed with Appalachian State.
Joining Best on the Mid-Piedmont All-Conference team are Mackenzie Cranford, Destiny DeBerry, Meg Everhart, Megan Hayworth and Jessie Hayworth.
Ledford’s baseball team had Duke Boger, Austin Stilley and Tebo White selected.
In soccer, Sarah Baker, Crystal Llodrat and Brooke Patterson received all-MPC recognition.
The golf team put three members on the all-conference squad. They were Anthony Bradley, Parker Hughes and Ryan McClellan.
In tennis, all six starters for the Panthers made all-MPC. They are Thomas Freeman, Will Harrington, Landon McGinn, Erik McSwain, Jackson Somers and Rick Ydrovo.
Ledford’s track and field teams had several take top honors.
For the girls, Sam Miller was named field event MVP, with Courtney Cefalo capturing most valuable athlete. Others making all-conference include Courtney Callicutt, Sierra Cefali, Sidney Russell and Brooke Shelton.
For the boys, Anthony Hughes was tabbed running event MPV along with most valuable athlete. He was joined on the team by Cam Fichthorn, Blake Lassiter, Hudson Reynolds, Jeremiah Rice and Dylan Varner.
