Davidson County Community College finished the Storm Classic over the weekend with a 1-1 record. That second digit will surely haunt DCCC over Christmas break.
Two games remain before the Christmas break for Davidson County Community College basketball and both will come this weekend at the annual Storm Classic.
The field for the two-day event that begins Saturday is loaded with talent. In attendance will be Davidson’s NJCAA Region X foe Caldwell Community College, Division II Northern Virginia, and Division I Clinton Junior College.
Davidson County Community College came into Tuesday’s rematch against Mt. Zion with a lot on their minds.
Head coach Matt Ridge was not in attendance due to illness, and the Warriors were the only team to have beaten the Storm, who are currently ranked 10th in the latest NJCAA Division III national poll.
Last time Davidson County Community College faced Johnston Community College, the Storm had to dig deep for an overtime victory.
Saturday’s clash at Brinkley Gym was a little easier. Well, a lot easier. Davidson led by 22 at the half and caged the Jaguars in a 79-37 flogging.
Davidson County Community College breezed to another double-digit win on Wednesday, dusting off the Belmont Abbey junior varsity 87-56.
Head coach Matt Ridge was in no mood to celebrate.
