Autumn treasures, Friday football and more This-n-That

The ‘Trash and Treasure Sale’ will be going on today at Memorial United Methodist Church . It will start at 8 a.m. and end at 2 p.m. Hurry on down to the church located on Randolph Street. With fall just around the corner, you will find the lawn filled with pumpkins. They will make good pumpkin pies for Thanksgiving and jack-o'-lanterns for Halloween.

Several weeks ago the TIMES ran an article on community policing. I was so glad to see that Chief Jeff Insley and the Thomasville Police Department are continuing the philosophy of community oriented policing that was implemented here years ago. It has been proven to be successful in Thomasville and other communities.

Several scrimmage games have already taken place. Today you should find the scores from last night's area games. If anyone is as excited as my brother, a resident of Mooresville and an avid Mooresville Blue Devils fan, then you are definitely ready for some good high school football!

Things I have lived and learned

I've learned that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and still have the best time.

I've learned that there is nothing better than my dog waiting for me on the front porch, wagging his tail when I get home.
