Our elected officials

Reader comments about DC Commissioners

Everyone who lives in Davidson County should once again be proud of our elected officials. I remember a number of years ago when I traveled out of the county, my friends and people that I met were anxious to talk about one of our own who rode around in a spider car and carrying a big stick . Since that time being from Davidson County has attracted little attention.
Today we can once again be proud that our elected officials have made ours a county of distinction. Hopefully it will soon be legal to drop an opossum in a box. If the bill proposed by one of our elected officials passes, a female showing her breasts in public will now be a felon and can spend up to six months in jail. I agree these are dangerous females and should be considered felons along with the rest of those dangerous individuals who break laws and are a threat to the public. Our honorable commissioners have now made us safer by forbidding the federal government from confiscating our guns. I think it’s also time they make it legal to carry guns in public meetings.
I would like to make some other suggestions of things that should be considered for legislation. I saw a male horse urinating on the side of the road in plain view. Why do we allow the owner of such animals to get away with this disgraceful display? There should be a law against this. Someone ran over a skunk in my neighborhood and left it there for us to smell. We need a law to require citizens who run over skunks to get out, bag them up, and dispose of them. I saw two individuals kissing in public last week. One had their tongue in the other person’s mouth. How dare they do such a thing in public? Yuck! Shouldn’t this be punishable by at least six months in the Davidson County jail?
It’s wonderful that our elected officials are focused on such important issues. There is no reason to consider the needs of our schools, jobs, taxes and other issues which affect the citizens of our county and state as long as all of these immoral and disgusting things are taking place.
It is wonderful that now I feel safe to take my gun and go opossum hunting and, if I see any topless women, I may report them!
Let’s all be proud.
