Sherri (Seward) Carter

THOMASVILLE — Sherri (Seward) Carter, 52, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Charles Randall Carter.

Mrs. Carter was born on June 6, 1961 in High Point, a daughter of Joyce (Backley) Carter of High Point, and the late Johnny George Seward. She was a graduate of Alleghany High School in Sparta, NC and attended G.T.C.C. for two years.

In her spare time she enjoyed volunteering at the High Point Museum, where she was a tour guide and sat on the Board of Trustees; reading, traveling to the beach and mountains, spending time and barbequing with family and friends, and taking care of her pets.

Mrs. Carter is survived by two sons, Adam C. Carter and his partner, Christopher L. Headrick of Manassas, VA, and Eric R. Carter of Titusville, FL; a sister, Lorinda S. Cox and her husband, Roger of Trinity; two nephews, Steven D. Cox and his wife, Megan, and Matthew D. Cox all of Greensboro; a niece, Amanda D. Cox of Boone; her companion, Mark Wilson of Thomasville; a stepfather, Nathan Carter of High Point, and her beloved dog, Duke.

A celebration of life graveside service was held Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013 at Floral Garden Memorial Park with Rev. Gayle Ford officiating. A visitation was held Saturday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, 206 Trindale Road, Archdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the High Point Museum, 1859 East Lexington Avenue, High Point, NC 27262.

THOMASVILLE- Ivan Wray Coleman, 76, died on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at his residence.

Dorothy Rummage-Davis

LEXINGTON — Dorothy Miller Rummage-Davis, 85,  died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House.

The funeral will be 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12,  at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at their respective homes. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.


Bobby Hedrick

LEXINGTON — Bobby Ray Hedrick, 80, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Lexington Medical Center.

A memorial service was held Monday, Sept. 9, at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ.  A private inurnment was held at the church cemetery. Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 


Amy Hobbs

LEXINGTON – Amy Jo Hobbs, 46, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at Genesis Salisbury Center.

The funeral was held Monday, Sept. 9,  at Reeds Baptist Church.  Burial followed in church cemetery. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.


Elaine Marlowe

THOMASVILLE — Elaine Dru Smith Marlowe , 88, died Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11,  at Rich Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Thomasville.  Thomasville Funeral Home in Thomasville is assisting the family.


Lisa Milton

LEXINGTON — Lisa Gail McBride Milton, 53, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at her home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at National Cemetery in Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12,  at Davidson Funeral Home.


Wayne Setliff

WINSTON-SALEM — Wayne Myron Setliff, 82, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at his home.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, Sept. 10, at Vernon Forest Baptist Church. A graveside committal services with military honors was held. at Schoolfield Cemetery in Danville, Va.. J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home  in Wallburg assisted the family.


Pauline Tuttle

LEXINGTON — Pauline Cecil Everhart Tuttle, 90, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at Alston Brook Nursing Center. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Faith Missionary Alliance Church. Visitation will be held at the church from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
