Mr. Cecil “George” Moreton, 91, a resident of High Point Place, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2014.
Mr. Moreton was born on July 7, 1923 in England to the late Herbert Owen and Edith Rose Wise Moreton. He served in the Royal Air Force and was the loving husband of Ruth Blackley Morton, with whom he shared over 66 wonderful years of marriage with. He was a world renown Master Marquetry Craftsman, having placed 1st and 2nd in competition at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE).
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Moreton of High Point Place; his daughters, Janet Black and her husband Eric of Thomasvlle and Carol Ruth Ross and her husband Larry of Canada; one grandchild, Jennifer Lynn Pearson; and his sisters, Edna Ireland and Ann Hampton.
A private graveside service was held Friday, April 11, 2014 at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
