Harold Lee Austin Sr.

SUPPLY — Harold Lee Austin, Sr., 79, of Supply, formerly of Thomasville, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Medical University of South Carolina.

He was born on November 22, 1934 in Pelzer, SC, a son of the late Fred and Willie Mae Austin. Mr. Austin was a US Army veteran and retired as a police officer with Thomasville Police Department. He also retired from security with the High Point Regional Medical Center.

Surviving are his wife, of 42 years, Joyce Hendren Austin; son, Harold Lee Austin, Jr., of Tyro; daughter, Amber Shuler (Randall), of Thomasville; granddaughter, Jennifer James; and three great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12th in the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Chapel.

Family will receive friends from 1:30-2:00 pm.

Jennifer Bacon

LEXINGTON — Jennifer Lynn Hobbs Bacon, 47, died Friday, April 4, 2014 in Hinkle Hospice House. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Tabor United Church of Christ.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Aaron Bean

THOMASVILLE — Mr. Aaron Scott Bean, 19, a resident of Lake Road, died Monday, April 7, 2014.

He was born on April 29, 1994 in Davidson County, NC to Jeffrey Scott Bean and Toni Jill Trotter.  He was a 2012 graduate of East Davidson High School and loved guitars, golf, and his Honda Civic.

Surviving in addition to his parents, Jeff Bean and Jill Trotter and her fiancé Ronnie Laine, are a sister, Courtney Bean; maternal grandparents, Donnie and Darlene Trotter; paternal grandparents, Terry and Betty Bean; his girlfriend, Leah Barringer, all of Thomasville; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 2p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Michael Bowers officiating.  Mr. Bean will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until the hour of the graveside service.  The family will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.  Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Online condolences may be sent to

THOMASVILLE — Mary Childers, 74, died on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Liberty Wood Nursing Home.

LEXINGTON — Jack Lloyd Hardie, 82, of Holloways Church Road, died Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center.

A funeral was held Sunday, April 6, Macedonia United Methodist Church.  Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.

DENTON — Kimberly “Kim” Diana Marshall, 26, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at her residence.

A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Friday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.


Johnnie Thompson

LEXINGTON — John (Johnnie) Anderson Thompson, 93, passed away at Hinkle Hospice Home on Sunday, April 6, 2014.

A celebration of life for Johnnie will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairmont Presbyterian Church with Rev. J. Randy Hall.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
