Also surviving are her three granddaughters, Elizabeth K. Rogers of Boone, NC, Emily K. Rogers and Sarah Connelly both of Thomasville.

Erlene was a lifelong resident of Thomasville where she was a graduate of Thomasville High School. She was employed at Brayton International and then with Steelcase until her retirement in 2010. Other than her yearly beach trips, her focus then turned to her grandchildren. She loved their visits and the attention they gave her. There will be a void in each of their lives now with their Nana gone. Her greatest accomplishments were her two sons and the impact she has had on her grandchildren and her many friends and coworkers. She will be missed by all that knew her.
