Sherry Kindley

THOMASVILLE — Sherry Lynn Noah Kindley, 57, died Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the home of her daughter.

A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Hughes Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 29,  at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.


Nina Varner

DENTON — Nina Bell Latham Varner, 94,  died Friday July, 26, 2013.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Denton Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.


Dorothy Veach

THOMASVILLE — Dorothy Jean Shore Veach, 92, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation.

The funeral service will be conducted 4 p.m. Monday, July 29,   at Pine Woods United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 28.


'Jackye' Sink

LEXINGTON — Jacqueline “Jackye” Weaver Sink,  86, died Friday, July 26, 2013, at Abbotts Creek Care and Rehabilitation.

The funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 3 to 4 p.m. prior to the service. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.


David Turner

THOMASVILLE — Mr. David Turner, 79, a resident of Thomasville, died Friday afternoon, July 26, 2013.

He was born August 26, 1933 in Spartanburg S.C., a son of the late Oren Lloyd Turner and Willie Mae Hoyt Turner. He was a retired manager at Thomasville Furniture Industries where he spent over 50 years as a dedicated employee.

He loved Thomasville High School football games. Over the past 50 years he attended every game that he was able. As well as being a huge Bulldog supporter, he also had a passion for golf, whether he was actually playing or watching the sport. He was a long time member of Colonial Country Club. David stayed active and had so many interests, but his grandchildren always came first and meant the world to him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, O.L. Turner Jr., and Andy Turner.

On June 27, 1953 he was married to his wife of 60 years, Glenda Rumple Turner, who survives of the home.  Also surviving are daughters, Debbie Turner Greer and husband David of Lenoir and Cindy Turner McLain and husband Bill of Thomasville; a son, David Turner Jr. and wife Angie, also of Thomasville. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren; Jason Watson and friend Debra of Lincolnton, Megan McLain Croke and husband Ben of Winston-Salem, Chelsea Turner and Trent Turner, both of Thomasville. David is also survived by two sisters, Lib Cloniger of Thomasville and Barbara Page and husband Bucky of Savannah, Ga.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 12 p.m.. at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with the Rev. Peggy Finch officiating. The family will receive friends at J C Green and Sons funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45am prior to the service and at other times at the home.
