Bernice Melton-Craft 

HIGH POINT — Bernice Melton-Craft, 62, of High Point, died Saturday.

Bernice Melton-Craft was born March 4, 1951 to the late Edgar Melton and Mary Ellen Melton in Wadesboro, North Carolina. On Saturday, April 27, 2013, she passed away at her home in High Point, North Carolina.

Bernice was initially educated in the Anson County Public School System and completed her education in the Thomasville Public School System (Church Street School). She enjoyed a successful career in banking, advertising, not-for-profits and entrepreneurship. In addition to her birth city, Bernice resided in Greensboro, High Point and Thomasville, North Carolina; and Albany and Smyrna, Georgia at various time periods throughout her life. Bernice was baptized in 1986 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She enjoyed traveling; spending time with her family; and participating in the disciple-making work and helping others to come to an accurate knowledge of the Bible.

Bernice was preceded in death by: brothers, William and Rudolph; sisters, Alice and Betty; grandson, Quintin.

Bernice leaves behind: sisters, Lorene, Mattie, Peggy (Alfred), Clara, Brenda and Gwendolyn (Joseph); brother, Claude; sons, Gerald (Kimberly) and Terald (Tamara); daughter, Ursula; grandchildren, Ashton, Ckalib, Logan, Kerys, Gerald, Jr., James and Olivia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 635 Liberty Road (Highway 62), High Point, North Carolina 27263.

 

Romelle Green

THOMASVILLE —  Romelle G. Green, 66,  died Monday, April 29, 2013 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4,  in Brown New Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 204 White street at the home of Edward Bosier.  S.E. Thomas Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

 

Juanita Harrison

LEXINGTON — Juanita Inez Covington Harrison, 65,  died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. today (May 2)  at Central Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1,  at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.

 

Barney King

THOMASVILLE — Barney Jenkins King, 92, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, in Forsyth Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. today (May 2) at Holly Hill Memorial Park.

Thomasville Funeral Home is serving the family.

 

Bobby Lambert

THOMASVILLE — Bobby Wayne Lambert, 73, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013.  F

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville.  Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home.

 

Bette Monroe

LEXINGTON — Bette Leier Monroe, 91, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Alston Brook of Lexington.

A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home. 

 

Bill Swing

LEXINGTON — James Walter Swing, 81,  died Monday, April 29, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today (May 2), at Becks Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service  in the church parlor and other times at the home of the family. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.

 

Betty Thomason

LEXINGTON — Betty Walser Thomason, 73,  died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her home.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 3,  at Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. today (May 2) at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
