LEXINGTON — Charles “Joe” Edward Adams, 64, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. today at Near Calvary Freewill Baptist Church. Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is serving the family.
DENTON — Janie Bescher Cole, 63, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Randolph Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the North Bend Cemetery on Bescher Chapel Road.
Visitation will be held at Briggs Funeral Home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. the day of the funeral and other times at the residence on Farmer-Denton Road.
Thurman M. Collins
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Thurman M. Collins, 82, a resident of Hillcrest Drive, died Sunday, November 25, 2012, at his home. He was born on April 12, 1930 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Rennie Joseph Collins and the late Eula Mae Hall Collins. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries, Plant L after 34 years of service. He was a member of Johnsontown United Methodist Church for 54 years and past member of The Church Trustees.
On December 23, 1949, he married Patsy Prewitt, who survives of the home. Also surviving are three sons, Paul Chris Collins and wife Delores of Pinehurst, NC, Gerald Dale Collins and wife Patty of Thomasville, and Randy Joseph Collins, Sr. and wife Carolyn of Pleasant Garden, NC; a sister, Delma Conner of Albemarle, NC; six grandchildren, Randy Collins, Jr., Jeremy Collins, Keri Lovell, Candy Walters, Christie Koval, and Michael Kivett; and nine great-grandchildren, Maddie Jones, Tanner Walters, Austin Bowman, Ethan Lovell, Katelynn Koval, Lawrenn Koval, Kellie Koval, Brendan Kivett, and Derrick Kivett.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Johnsontown United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eric W. Lineberry and the Rev. Bobby Beck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Collins will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today and at other times at the home. Memorials may be directed to Johnsontown UMC, 1057 Johnsontown Road, Thomasville, NC 27360.

A celebration of life service was held Monday, Nov. 26, at Pilgrim Reformed Church in Lexington. Davidson Funeral Home served the family.
DENTON — E. Ray Gallimore, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at his residence.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Gravel Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Gallimore Road.
LEXINGTON — Phyllis Myers Hughes, 66, Saturday, Nov 24, 2012 at her residence.
The funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. today (Nov. 27) in Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church. Interment will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Lexington. The family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the church, and at other times at the home. Mrs. Hughes will remain at J. C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until placed in the church.

THOMASVILLE — Duncan Monroe McLean, Jr., died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012. at Hinkle Hospice Home.
The funeral service was held on Sunday, Nov. 25, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery. J.C. Green & Sons served the family.

LEXINGTON — Mary Belle Cole Charles Richard, 78, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at Abbotts Creek Care and Rehabilitation Center.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2012, at Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 pm prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of her daughter, Wanda and David Moore, Iroquois Trail, Lexington. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.
YADKINVILLE — Ethel Swing Smith, 90, formerly of Lexington, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Davidson Funeral Home.
THOMASVILLE — Ms. Crystal Tuwanna Snider, 47, a resident of Fuller Mill Road died Saturday morning, November 24, 2012 at her residence.
She was born March 31, 1965 in Guilford County, a daughter of Kermit Snider and Patsy Hughes Snider. Ms. Snider was employed with AMPAC Forwarding of High Point. She attended Zion United Church of Christ. Surviving are a daughter, Ashley Cheek of Trinity; a son, Austin Cheek of Trinity; a sister, Erica Snider of Thomasville; brothers, Chris Freeman and wife Tracy and Jeff Freeman and wife Tracy, both of Thomasville; stepfather, Joe Hughes, Sr. of Thomasville; stepbrothers, Joe Hughes, Jr. and wife Rita and Travis Hughes, both of Thomasville; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012, in Zion United Church of Christ with the Rev. James Simonds officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
