LEXINGTON — Ralph William Burkhart, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Hinkle Hospice House.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sep. 23, at Beck’s Reformed Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Davidson Funeral Home assisted the family.
THOMASVILLE — Frank Edward (J.R.) Davis died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013.
A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, in The Lamb of God Outreach Ministries in Archdale. J.C. Green & Sons Funeral home is assisting the family.
CHINA GROVE – Jeff Fritts, 57, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at his residence.
A funeral will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, at Kannapolis Church of God. Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, in West Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
LEXINGTON — Mary Bernice Raker Little, 87, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, in Raleigh.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service.

LEXINGTON – Shelia Slone Martin, 65, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home. There is no public funeral service.

LEXINGTON — Edna Leigh Koontz Morgan, 86, of Salisbury, died Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at the home of her daughter on Peacock Drive, Lexington.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at noon in National Cemetery, Salisbury. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter.
DURHAM — Annette Crosby Rumple, 75, died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Duke Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville. Graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville.
Edith W. Truitt
LEXINGTON — Edith Ward Truitt, 92, of John Ward Road, Lexington died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday at Pilgrim Reformed Church with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at their respective homes.
Mrs. Truitt was born January 2, 1921, in Davidson County, to John Ward and Lottie Fritts Ward.
She was a retired Supervisor from Manhattan Shirt Co. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, David P. (Doc) Truitt; brothers, Buford Ward, Edward Ward, Dan Gray Ward, and Archie Ward; and sisters, Jacqueline Farabee and Kaye Everhart.
Surviving are a son, David P. Truitt, Jr. (Shirley) of Fayetteville; two daughters, Shirley Truitt Erath Conrad (John) of High Point, Loretta Truitt Burton (Larry) of Thomasville; nine grandchildren, Reina Moseley of Kernersville, Dr. Stacy Dembitsky (Michael) of Lexington, SC, Ron James (Mary) of Salem, VA, Deborah James of High Point, Michael Erath (Elizabeth) of New Albany, Ohio, Angela Burton (Kevin Odell) of Chapel Hill, NC, Rodney Burton (Lee Ann), Melinda Burton both of Thomasville, Dr. Scott Burton (Melanie) of Salisbury; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, John Ray Ward (Dorcas) of Lexington; sisters, Ruth Jolly, Doris Hedrick (Willis), both of Lexington, and Mary Workman (David) of Thomasville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
