LEXINGTON — Reba Carol Bryan, 58, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, at Brookstone Retirement Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at First Wesleyan Church. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.
Virginia Proctor White Dorsett
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Virginia Proctor White Dorsett, 91, went to her Heavenly home on September 16, 2013 at Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on January 19, 1922 in Guilford County, NC to Tom Proctor and Bessie Stalker Proctor, both of whom preceded her in death. She and her husband Murry owned Pier Inn Motel and White’s Bait and Tackle Shop at Carolina Beach.
On October 11, 1941, she married Murry White, who she shared 37 years of marriage before he passed on January 26, 1978. She was also preceded in death by husband, Worth Dorsett on September 3, 2006; son, Tommy White on May 22, 1985; two granddaughters, Leanne White Payne and Stephanie White; brothers, R.V., Clyde, Bobby, and McKinley Proctor; and sister, Lavata Babson.
Surviving are her son, Harold White of Thomasville; great-granddaughter, Kerrie Johnson and husband Nathaniel; two great-great grandchildren, Layla and Lincoln Johnson; brother, Elmer Proctor of High Point; sisters, Hazel Whitfield of GA, Arlene Moore of Thomasville, Maxine Robbins of High Point, and Lorraine Saunders of High Point; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. Elton Wilborne officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery in High Point. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her son, Harold, Bell Drive, Thomasville.

Coy Coolidge Grubb
THOMASVILLE — Mr. Coy Coolidge Grubb, 89, a resident of Denton Road, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Henry Etta & Bruce Hinkle Hospice Home.
He was born on July 22, 1924 in Davidson County to David Lee Grubb and Ida Elizabeth Black Grubb. He retired from Brass Craft, Inc. and was a life long resident of Davidson County. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church since 1952, where he was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for many, many years and fulfilled many different positions at the church. He was a US Army veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Arvil and Odell Grubb; and sisters, Bertha Grubb Pope, Mary Grubb Clodfelter, Nova Grubb Embler, Edna Grubb Clodfelter, and Zondal Grubb Cagle.
On December 26, 1946, he married Lalar Hughes, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his son, Harold Grubb and wife Greta of Thomasville; granddaughter, Abbye Pourcho and husband Glenn; three great-granddaughters, Katie, Bridget, and Rebecca Pourcho; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Rev. David Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00 pm and at other times at the home.

NEW LONDON — Eula Myers Hughes, 87, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at Pine Ridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Thomasville.
The funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at Farmer Baptist Church .The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
Judy Ann Loflin
SUPPLY — Mrs. Judy Ann Loflin, 61, of Supply went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 13, 2013.
Judy was born in Guilford County, NC on May 26, 1952 and was the daughter of James Mark Flannery of Denton, NC and the late Ruby Russ Flannery.
She worked for may years at Kirby’s Steak House in Shallotte and also with the Brunswick County School System as the Cafeteria Manager at Union Elementary School and also prior to her retirement at Waccamaw Elementary School.
Judy and her husband Huey owned their own catering business. She and Huey served the Lord through their music ministry “The Loflins” at many churches and nursing homes. They also assisted with many area food banks at various churches to help the needy. She was a member of Unity Worship Center.
Survivors in addition to her father include her husband Huey Loflin; children, Pebbles Sigmon and husband Kent of Shallotte; Christopher Norris of Denton, NC, Jeff Loflin and wife Sandra of Thomasville,NC, Belinda Jones and husband Jack of Winston-Salem, NC, Julia and Patrick Sannivang of Star, NC; sisters, Lesia McDaniel of Thomasville, NC, Virginia Doed of Trinity, NC; brothers, Jack Flannery and Roby Flannery and wife Wendy of Thomasville, NC; eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and numerous very close friends and many Christian families and friends.
A service to celebrate the life and home going of Judy will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11 a.m. at United Vision Pentecostal Church, 2386 A-I Clemmons Rd., Shallotte, NC, with the Reverend Maurice Milligan, Reverend Jim Taylor, Reverend Tom Stephenson, Reverend James Flowers officiating.
