'Dickie' Boles, Jr.

THOMASVILLE— Marshall (Dickie) Boles Jr., 84, died Wednesday, Sept, 11, 2013, at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today (Sept. 14) at Hillside Park Baptist Church, 7593 E. Holly Grove Road in Thomasville. Prior to the service, visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Thomasville Funeral Home is assisting the family.


Dorothy Rummage-Davis

LEXINGTON — Dorothy Miller Rummage-Davis, 85, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House.

The funeral was held Thursday, Sept. 12, at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Davidson Funeral Home assisted the family.


Larry Duncan

THOMASVILLE — Larry Donnell Duncan, 61, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at Libertywood Nursing Home.

A memorial service was held Thursday, Sept. 12, at Friendship Baptist Church. S.E. Thomas Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of the arrangements.


Pauline Everhart

ARCHDALE — Pauline Marie Freedle Everhart, 89, died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at High Point Regional Hospital.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today (Sept. 14) at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.


Mary Hill

LEXINGTON — Mrs. Mary Ruth Johnson Aderhold Hill, 85, a resident of Carolina House went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Carolina House.

She was born on June 8, 1928 in Davidson County to Marcellus Elliott Johnson and Alice Myers Johnson. She retired from Marsh Furniture Company. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, where she was a faithful member of the choir, the Mary Ruth Sink Sunday School Class, the Sixty Plus Club and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. One of her favorite hobbies was sharing the love of Jesus through her doll ministry and went to several area churches to share it.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Aderhold in 1987 and her second husband of 4 years, Paige Hill; son, Sam Aderhold; sisters, Roberta Kennedy, Ruby Goodwin, and Lois Cecil; and brother, John David Johnson.

Surviving are her son, Doug Aderhold and wife Gail of Winston-Salem; brother, Kirby Johnson and wife Marie of Thomasville; sisters, Betty Hilton of Thomasville, Shirley Lawing and husband Bo of Denton, Rachel Pruitt of Thomasville, and Linda Hardison and husband Ronnie of High Point; sister-in-law, Shirley Payne Johnson of High Point; family friend, Roger; two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held on Friday, September 13, 2013, at Zion United Church of Christ with the Rev. James Simonds officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends Friday at the church and will receive friends other times at the home of Doug and Gail, 140 Emily Ann Dr. in Winston-Salem.

The family would like to thank the staff of Carolina House in Lexington for their excellent care and all the friends and family for all their love they have shown.

Mary Jordan

SANFORD — Mary Belle Myers Jordan, 75, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at her residence.

Mrs. Jordan was born in Davidson County on March 1, 1938 the daughter of Clayton and Ruth (Boggs) Myers. She had been employed by the PTA Thrift Shop in Siler City as manager. Mary was a member of Oakley Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, camping and singing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jordan; her parents; a brother, Clay Myers; and a great-grandson, Bently Creason.

She is survived by two daughters: Debra Vandervort and husband, Richard of Youngsville, Gloria Clare of Goldston; two sons, Roger Causey of Winston-Salem, Tony Causey and wife Denise of Sanford; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, September 15, at Oakley Baptist Church, 2300 Siler City-Glendon Road, Siler City. The funeral will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Oakley Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Faircloth and Rev. Eddie Ellison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

DENTON — Judd Russell, 92, died early Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Randolph Hospice House.

A private service will be held.
