Jerry Gordon

THOMASVILLE — A Celebration of Life Service for Jerry Gordon will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at Park Place Baptist Church, 201 Kern St. in Thomasville.  The family will greet family and friends following the service. Mr. Gordon, 59, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 at the Hospice Home at High Point. 

Gloria Harris
THOMASVILLE- Gloria A. Harris, 54, died on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at her residence. Prominence Funeral Home in Thomasville is in charge of the arrangements.

Diane Robbins

THOMASVILLE — Diane Jerman Robbins, 68, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at the Hinkle Hospice House.

A graveside service was held  Friday, Nov. 8, at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville. J.C. Green & Sons in Winston-Salem is in charge of arrangements.


Mary Smith

LEXINGTON — Mary Atkins Smith, 99, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. today (Nov. 9)  at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.


Lisa Snyder

THOMASVILLE — Lisa Renee Harris Snyder, 55, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10,  in J. C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville.  Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m., prior to the service, and other times at the home.


Jewel Watford

THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Jewel Pierce Watford, 78, a resident of 141 Lee Road, died Thursday morning, November 7, 2013 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. 

She was born October 11, 1935 in Randolph County, a daughter of Royce Pierce and Millie Barnes Pierce.  She was former co-owner of Thomasville Apparel.  Mrs. Watford was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and the teacher for the Louise Moore Sunday School Class for many years and an active member of WMU.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Allen Watford; a sister Pauline Gordon; and a brother Don Pierce.

Surviving are her husband John Benjamin Watford of the home; a daughter, Kay Watford and her husband John Collett, III of Thomasville; sons, Sam Watford and wife Karen, Frank Watford and wife Robin, Ben Watford and wife Mitzi and Luther Watford, all of Thomasville; sisters, Louise Elberson and husband Jim of Thomasville and Mary Hughes of Denton; brothers, Charles Pierce and wife Glenda of Lexington and Dolan Pierce and wife Bonnie of Thomasville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. David Bowman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Mrs. Watford will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church thirty minutes prior to the service.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8p.m. and other times at the home.

The family request any memorial contributions may be sent in Mrs. Watford’s honor to Hospice of Davidson County, 202 Hospice Lane, Lexington, N.C. 27292 or to Liberty Baptist Church, 225 Liberty Avenue, Thomasville, N.C. 27360.

LEXINGTON — Fannie Mae Bean Younts, 95,  died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at  Lexington Health Care.

The funeral was held Thursday, Nov. 7,  at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followrf in Yadkin College Cemetery.
