'Dee' Davis

THOMASVILLE — Evelyn (Dee) Pirolozzi Davis, 65,died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at the Hospice Home at High Point.

A formal visitation or service will not be held. J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville is assisting the family.

 

Ronald E. Durham

LEXINGTON — Ronald Eugene Durham, 57,  died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at his home.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at First Reformed United Church of Christ, 104 East Center Street, Lexington. The family will receive friends following the service from 5 to 7 p.m. and other times at the home.

 

Carlie Hughes

THOMASVILLE- Carlie Lee Hughes, 63, died on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013 at Brookside Rehabilitation & Care.

Prominence Funeral Home assisted the family.

 

Darrell Logan

THOMASVILLE — Darrell Franklin Logan, 85, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville.  The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

 

'Maxine' Rogers

GREENSBORO —  Mrs. Audrey “Maxine” Rogers, 90, widow of Mr. Ray Rogers, was called home peacefully in her sleep to be with her Lord and Savior Friday morning, August 23, 2013 at Emeritus Senior Living of Greensboro, NC, after suffering from a stroke in 2009 that took her memory and communication abilities.

Mrs. Rogers was born October 31, 1922 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Reed and Willie May Throgmorton. She was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse. She was a faithful woman of God and lived her life serving Him and others.  She unselfishly cared for her husband while he was here on this earth. She was a virtuous, loving, caring, independent woman. Prior to her stroke, she was an active member of Cedar Lodge Baptist Church, of Thomasville, NC.  She loved to travel, set out on adventures, paint, read, sew, walk, swim, fish and camp. She loved her family and most of all Jesus.

Surviving are a half-sister, Reeda Slusher, Carmel, IN, son and daughter-in-law, Guy Rogers and Glenda, High Point, NC, five grandchildren and spouses, Stefanie Rogers Horner and Clint, Burlington, NC, Stacie Rogers Everhart and Taylor, Oak Ridge, NC, Scott Goldbar and Janet, Lexington, SC, Tara Welch and Dale, Swansea, SC, and Allison Raybon and Michael, Swansea, SC, eight great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Rogers is preceded in death by one son, Arthur James Ratliff, 5 sisters and three brothers.

Cremation services were entrusted to J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home of Thomasville, NC.  A private family viewing and memorial service led by her son, Guy, was held at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home, in Thomasville, NC, Friday, August 23, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.  Her ashes will be buried in Bethel Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, at a later date to be determined with a graveside memorial to follow.

The family would like to express a "special" thanks to the staff of Emeritus of Greensboro Senior Living for all the loving care extended to Mrs. Rogers during her illness.
