Beatrice Miller Hicks
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Beatrice (Bea) Miller Hicks, 98, a resident of Thomasville passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013.
Beatrice was born in Davidson County, NC on December 23, 1914 a daughter of the late Melvin Brown Miller and Ora Jane Kinney Miller. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Miller Parrish and two brothers, Robert Miller and W.C. Miller who died in 1941 at Pearl Harbor.
Bea was a lifelong resident of Thomasville except for the time she was in Baltimore working for Martin Aircraft after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. She was a graduate of Thomasville High School, class of 1933, a member of First Baptist Church in Thomasville, and a lifelong member of the Gleaners group. A loving mother and grandmother, Bea was admired and respected by her co-workers and anyone who knew her. She loved life, laughter and was simply a happy lady. A giving person, she was always willing to help and serve others and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff and caregivers at Pine Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care they gave to Bea.

Surviving to cherish her memories are her daughters, Jane Hicks Dillard and her husband Wilson of Lyman, SC and Sylvia Ann Creasy of Columbus, NC; a granddaughter, Seely Dillard of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sister-in-law, Amogene Miller of Thomasville, NC; cousins, Rebecca Miller Gilliand and her husband Terry, Susan Miller Wall and her husband Greg, and Randall Parrish all of Thomasville, NC, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point with the Rev. Michael Hall officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery. Bea will remain at J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until she is taken to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 8 Cramer St., Thomasville, NC 27360.

THOMASVILLE — Charles Reefice Runyon died Sunday, April 21, 2013.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, at Thomasville Funeral Home. A chapel service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point.
LEXINGTON — Charles Holland Tussey, 89, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Beulah United Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at their respective homes.

LEXINGTON — Larry Carl White Sr., 64, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Health- Lexington Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
DENTON — Joseph Woodlief, 52, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at his residence.
A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Denton. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service, at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
