Nancy Berrier

LEXINGTON — Nancy Geraldine Berrier, 80,  died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in the Hinkle Hospice House.

The funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23,  in J.C. Green & Sons Chapel.

 

Roberta Bowman

THOMASVILLE —   Roberta McKnight Bowman, 60,  died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in Forsyth Medical Center.

The  funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23,  in Emmanuel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church 30 minutes before the funeral service and other times at the home.  S.E. Thomas Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements.

 

Joe Clinard Sr.

THOMASVILLE — Joe Crayton Clinard  Sr., 88, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Pine Ridge Health & Rehabilitation.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23,  at Fairview United Methodist Church.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville.   

 

'Gene' Hughes

TRINITY — William Eugene (Gene) Hughes died Tuesday, June 18, 2013.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today (June 22)  at Westfield Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. J.C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville is assisting the family.

 

June Huneycutt

HIGH POINT — June Wilson Kennedy Huneycutt,  76, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at the Hospice Home of High Point.

The funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. today (June 22) in J. C. Green & Sons Chapel. The interment will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

 

Doyt Johnson 

SHELBY — Doyt Lee Johnson, 80, of 1710 N. Lafayette Street, Shelby, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

Born April 14, 1933 in Randolph County, Mr. Johnson was a son of the late Jasper Newton Johnson and Vera Shaw Johnson.  He was employed by Bernhardt Furniture Company since 1973 and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lawndale where he was an usher and a member of the United Methodist Men.  Mr. Johnson was a member of Fallston American Legion and served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.  He was an avid sports fan and loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Von Frank Johnson, and a sister, Helen Embler.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Anna Waterhouse Johnson; four sons, Phil Johnson and wife  Melissa, Kirby Johnson and wife Kris, and Scott Johnson, all of Shelby and Douglas Johnson and wife, Megan of Cheshire, CT; sister, Iris Shaw of Thomasville; eleven grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley, Daniel, Kelly, Devon, Andy, Tyler, Will, Lucas, Matthew, and Meighan and two great-grandchildren, Abram and Adalynn.

The funeral service, officiated by the Rev. David Hiatt, was held Thursday, June 20,at First United Methodist Church of

Lawndale. Burial was in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston.

Deborah Bingham Ward

EDISON, TENN — Deborah Bingham Ward, age 58, passed away on June 14, 2013 at her home in Eidson, Tennessee.

She was born September 11th 1954 to her mother, Shirley Sentell Bingham

and the late Turner Bingham in Brevard, NC.

Deb was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family and friends dearly.

Deb worked as a Veterinarian Technician for over 25 years. Most of her service in animal care was at Southgate Veterinary Clinic in Thomasville, NC. She loved caring for all animals large and small, and always went above and beyond to provide for their health care needs. Deb was loved and respected by all who knew her. She retired in 2001 due to health reasons.

Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Michael Ward (SFC ret.); mother, Shirley Sentell Brown of Trinity, NC; daughter, Holly and her husband Ryan Lackey; granddaughter, Ally Houston; grandson, Kenney Houston of Ramseur, NC; sister, Wanda and her husband Steven Stutts of Thomasville, NC; and nephew, Craig Stutts of Raleigh, NC.

She was preceded in death by her son, Kenney Bingham Brown; father, Turner Bingham; and stepfather, Julian W. Brown.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m.  today (June 22) at English Road Baptist Church, 1111 English Road, High Point, North Carolina. The memorial service will follow at 1:15 p.m. for those who wish to attend.

Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Irene Yokley

THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Irene Orman Yokley, 92, died June 18, 2013.

She was born July 18, 1920 to the late Lester and Arminta Orman. She was a graduate of Pilot High School and a member of the Lexington Church of Christ.

On May 20, 1939, she married Clyde D. Yokley who preceded her in death on January 11, 2013.

Surviving are a daughter, Elaine Y. Davis and her husband Terry of Matthews, NC; two granddaughters, Shannon D. Luce and her husband Tony of Jacksonville Beach, FL and Amy D. Oswalt and her husband Shane of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, L.H. Orman and his wife Elaine of Thomasville.

A graveside service was conducted Friday  at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville by Robert Goff and Brock Shanks.
