Ella Batten

THOMASVILLE –  Ella Virginia Pilkington Moretz Batten,  84, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Spring Arbor. The funeral service was held Saturday, July 5, at Carolina Memorial Baptist Church. The interment was at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. J. C. Green and Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville assisted the family.

 

Melba Brewer

LEXINGTON — Melba Faulk Brewer, 82, of Lexington Health Care, died Thursday, July 3, 2014, at the nursing home. The funeral was held Tuesday, July 7, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial at National Cemetery followed.

 

Danny Godbolt

THOMASVILLE — Danny Howard Godbolt, 30, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 29th at his residence.

Danny was born March 21, 1984 in High Point to Norma Saltz and Gene Godbolt. He was a graduate of West Nassau High School in Callahan, Fla. He was predeceased by his mother Norma Saltz-Godbolt.

Danny is survived by his wife Katherine Rutledge Godbolt; father, Gene and Kelly Godbolt of Thomasville; former stepmother, Lisa Smith; two daughters, Faith and Mia Godbolt; seven sisters, Tina, Jacqui, Samantha, Ashley, Kayla, Kristen and Kari; two brothers, Wesley and Justin, as well as numerous other family members.

A memorial service celebrating Danny’s life was held  2 p.m. Sunday, July 6,, in the Chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph St., Thomasville NC.

James LaPradd

HIGH POINT — James C. LaPradd, 62, of High Point, North Carolina, died Friday, July 4, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, July 8, at Holly Hill Cemetery in Thomasville. Wright Funeral Service & Crematory in Martinsville, Va., served the family.

     

Caroline McCarthy

THOMASVILLE — Ms. Caroline June McCarthy, 67 passed away on Monday, July 1, 2014 at her residence.

Caroline was born on March 3, 1947 in Chicago, Il to Myrtle Zimmerman and Dennis James McCarthy. She was retired from Brass Craft Manufacturing Company. Caroline loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her son Frederick Pruitt.

She is survived by a daughter Criscina (Cris) Funk & husband James of Portsmouth, VA, a son Michael Pruitt, 3 brothers, John McCarthy & wife Shirley, Warren McCarthy & wife Carol and Donnie McCarthy all of Indiana, a sister Cecilia Pate of Dunn, NC, a special niece Shirley Raynor, 3 grandchildren, Matthew Funk, Dustin Pruitt and Dayna Pruitt, a great-grandchild Aubry and her beloved dog and companion Cameo.

At her request no formal services will be held.

THOMASVILLE - Norma J. Pickett, 52, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2104 at Forsyth Medical Center.  Prominence Funeral Home assisted the family.
