CMSgt. Van Porter Brown, retired United States Air Force, 72, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
The funeral was held Friday, Aug. 29, at Victory Baptist Church. Burial with military honors followed in the church cemetery. Davidson Funeral Home assisted the family.
THOMASVILLE — Linda Bushnell, 68, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. today (Aug. 30) at Bethel United Methodist Church in Thomasville. J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home is assisting the family.

THOMASVILLE — Grace Hensley Van Buskirk, 81, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014 at Spring Arbor Nursing Center.

LEXINGTON — Jerry Lynn Hedrick, 67, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, in Charlotte while attending the American Legion National Convention.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Aug. 28, at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church. Arrangements by Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.
LEXINGTON — Melba Beeker Leonard, 92, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral was held Thursday, Aug. 28, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment followed at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Lisa Ann Halker Workman, age 57, a resident of Pilot School Road, died Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born on January 3, 1957 in Guilford County, NC to Richard Reitzel Halker and Mary Frances Williams Halker. She was a vice president with Talent Sport, Inc. for 36 years and a member of Our Lady of the Highways Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lynn Hicks.
On December 27, 1975, she married Charles Henry Workman, who survives of the home; also surviving are a son, Chad Workman and wife Kelly of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Laura Bivins of Trinity and Kimberly Duncan and husband Terry of Winston-Salem; and a brother, Bradley Halker and wife Andrea of Panama City, FL.
The funeral service was held on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Dr. Mary R. Miller officiating. Interment followed in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
