She later married Pasquale Carbonaro on January 19, 1975, who also preceded her in death. She made her living as a seamstress and later as a central supply tech at the Northport VAMC on Long island, NY before retiring at the age of 79.

Rose moved to Lexington NC in October 2000 and was well received by the community. In addition to helping with her grandchildren, she was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary and volunteered at Lexington Memorial Hospital. For someone who claimed to not like the south, she was surely well loved and received by just about everyone who met her. She was a very special lady with great spunk and good humor. She leaves behind memories of her clownish personality and her most delicious Italian cooking.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks and gratitude for all who loved Rose, considered her a friend, mother, or grandmother, and helped take care of her as her health declined: Dr. Arnold, Dr. Riggan, Carolina Cardiology, Dr. Hawkins, Drs. Lance and Smith, Dr. Caillat and staff at Davidson Urology, Dr. Sheldon and staff at Carolina Senior Care, staff and friends at LMH, ED and ICU staff and NICS service at TMC, Davidson County ambulance and rescue squad; her friends at Mt. Moriah and Piedmont Crossing, especially Mary and Gloria; friends from Our Lady of the Rosary especially Alice (our angel), Helen (communion server), Kathy, Marie, Anita and Linda.
