LEXINGTON — Hugh William Allen, 72, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his home.
A service to celebrate his life was held July 22 at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington.
Robert Lee (Bob) Burton
THOMASVILLE — Retired Tsgt Robert Lee (Bob) Burton, 75, a resident of Thomasville passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
He was born in Davidson County, January 19, 1939 a son of Bessie Lee King Burton and Solomon Clay Burton. He was raised in High Point and proudly entered the United States Air Force in 1956. He served in the Vietnam Conflict from 1967-1968 and retired from service in 1976. He then returned to this area and served as an officer with the Thomasville Police Department from 1976-1979.
In 1979 Bob joined the staff of J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville where he began a 28-year career as a funeral director assisting families in the Thomasville area and surrounding communities.
On December 15, 1962 he was married to Dilys Irene Williams who preceded him in death in 2006. On November 3, 2007 he was married to Louise Walser who survives of the home. Also surviving are a daughter, Tracy D. Stephenson and her husband Steve of Clayton; a son, Clay R. Burton of Roy, Washington; a step-daughter, Cindy Gallimore and her husband Tom of Thomasville; a step-son, Sandy Walser of Thomasville; three sisters, Jessie Ridge of High Point, Dot Rumley and her husband Vance of High Point, and Clara Leach and her husband J.B. of Thomasville. Also surviving are his beloved grandchildren, Robert Burton, Megan Burton, Holly Burton, and Wyatt Stephenson and step-grandsons, Derrick Gallimore and Sean Gallimore.
Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to travel and during the years traveled to many foreign places.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 25, 2014 at 11 a.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville by the Rev. Garry Reeder and the Rev. Joe Parker. Burial with full military honors will follow at Westfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m.

THOMASVILLE — James Andrew Coleman, 82, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014 at the W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
A memorial service will be held at noon Thursday, July 24, at the Salisbury National Cemetery. Carolina Cremation of Salisbury and Charlotte is assisting the Coleman family.

A celebration of his life was held Sunday, July 20, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service was held Monday, July 21, at Beulah United Church of Christ. Interment followed in the church cemetery. J.C. Green & Sons served the family.

The funeral was held Monday, July 21, at Southside Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. the day of the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
