LEXINGTON — Cora Hunt Coe, 67, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House.
A graveside service was held Friday, Jan. 10, at the House of Hope. Davidson Funeral Home is serving the family.
BENNETT — Rebecca La-Dawn Sloop Elks, 41, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014.
She was a resident of Thomasville for most of her life. Rebecca was the daughter of Sharon Sloop Lawson of St. Augustine, Florida and the late Charlie Wayne Sloop of Concord, North Carolina.
She leaves to cherish her memory, children Taylor Elizabeth Elks and Matthew Gregory Elks of Bennett, North Carolina; two sisters Angela Gatewood of St. Augustine, Florida and Candace Russell of Salisbury, North Carolina; her great uncle Mark Basham and a host of other family and friends. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Triad Cremation Society & Chapel, 2110 Veasley St. Greensboro, NC 27407.
THOMASVILLE — Myrtle Lucille Grubb Ferguson, 93, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at Pine Ridge Nursing Home in Thomasville.

DENTON — James Clinton Hedrick, 73, died Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist - Lexington Medical Center.
The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Lexington. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Denton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today (Jan. 11) at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home.
LEXINGTON — Clifford Jones, 59, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 3 p.m. prior to the service and other times at the home of his parents.
Willa Mae Harris Lambeth
THOMASVILLE — Mrs. Willa Mae Harris Lambeth, 93, a resident of 1092 Johnsontown Road, died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at her residence.
She was born in Davidson County, July 17, 2920 a daughter of William V. Harris and Alma Lookabill Harris and was a lifelong resident of Davidson County. She graduated from Davis-Townsend School and Ashmore Business College. She was a former employee of the Smith Clinic and had retired from the Davidson County Health Department in 1983 following 30 years of service. In 1964 she received a Davidson County Medical Certificate Award for her outstanding contributions in the fight against polio.
She had been a member of Johnsontown United Methodist Church for over 60 years and was a member of the church Sunday school and a former church secretary. She was awarded the honor of 2013 Lay Person of the Year by the church for her dedicated service through the years. She was a member of the Thomasville Womans Club and a member of the NC Governmental Retirees Association.
On November 9, 1940 she was married to Paul Edward Lambeth who died December 9, 2007. She also was preceded in death by a son, Tony Edward Lambeth; sisters, Virginia Page and Maxine Conrad; and a brother, the Rev. Luther Harris.
Surviving are a son, Michael S, Lambeth and his wife Carolyn of Kannapolis, NC; three grandchildren, Monica Mitre and her husband Ramon, Noelle Legereit and her husband Danny, and Misha Diden and her husband Nick, all of Austin, TX; eight great-grandchildren, Andres Mitre, Sofia Mitre, Ian Mitre, Nicholas Lambeth, Luke Gonzales, Elijah Gonzales, Tessa Diden, and Miles Diden.
The funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. at J.C. Green & Sons Chapel in Thomasville by the Rev. Eric Lineberry and the Rev. Jenna Grogan. Burial will be in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 1 until 2 p.m.

Delk Mendenhall Jr.
LEXINGTON — Mr. Delk Fremont Mendenhall, Jr., 60, died January 8, 2014 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
He was born July 15, 1953 in Davidson County to the late Delk Fremont Mendenhall Sr. and the late Sara Ann Maley Mendenhall. He was a 1971 graduate of Thomasville High School and attended Hargrave Military Academy. He was a self employed musician.
Surviving are his sisters, Pam Hellman of Statesville, Penny Zanenghi and husband Armando of Thomasville, and Mindi Nelson and husband Scott of Thomasville; brother, John Law Mendenhall of Newbury, Fla.; stepsisters, Julia Riedel and husband Chris of Virginia and Betty Kovalcik and husband Jerry of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The funeral service will be held noon today (Jan. 11) at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
