The N.C. Department of Transportation will close West Lexington Avenue between Pennefield Way and Pinewood Lane in Davidson County on Thursday, Feb. 28, to replace a storm drainage pipe located under the road. The closure will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end by 6 p.m.

Motorists should take the following detour route to travel around the work zone: West Lexington Avenue to Chestnut Street Extension to North Old Greensboro Road to Wallburg-High Point Road back to West Lexington Avenue.

NCDOT encourages motorists to go slow, pay attention to construction-related signs and allow plenty of time to reach their destinations safely.
