A special Zumba class charity event will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18 at Thomasville Community Center, 7003 Ball Park Road  in Thomasville. Proceeds will go to help with expenses for the family of Misty Price, who died in a head-on crash Aug. 1.
Rainy conditions possibly contributed to the collision of Price's Ford Explorer which struck a GMC Envoy head-on about 7:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Cunningham Road.
Price, 28, left behind her fiancé Justin Clay and four children including Hailey, Samantha, Kaitlyn and Colton, 4-months-old.
Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements which incorporate hip-hop, soca, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo and martial arts movements.
Organizer and instructor Lynn Driggers organized the Zumba event where participants can have fun and help the family at the same time.
"I just wanted to do something to help," said Driggers. "The Zumba fundraiser will help with expenses incurred due to the tragic accident that took the life of this beautiful young woman. Plus, Zumba is a great stress relief and the camaraderie may just be what everyone needs."
All proceeds will go to help the family. Minimum donation is $5 but participants are free to give more.

Electronic donations may be made at www.giveforward.com. Put Misty Price in “Find a Fundraiser.”
