Novant to host health insurance information session
Oct. 25, 2013 @ 09:37 AM

Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center will host an educational session on the Health Insurance Marketplace — also known as the Health Insurance Exchange — on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
The meeting will be held in the SeniorLink room of the hospital.
A drop-in event, which will feature two formal presentations by expert speakers and the opportunity to sign up for plans with trusted brokers, will run from 3 to 7 p.m. with the formal presentations taking place at 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.
“Navigating the Marketplace — including if you qualify for a federal subsidy — can be confusing,” said Kathie Johnson, president of Novant Health TMC. “Novant Health is committed to providing our communities with the most up-to-date information on the Marketplace.”
As of Oct. 1, uninsured individuals, those who purchase their own health insurance or are looking for coverage that fits their budget, may be eligible to purchase insurance through the Marketplace.
At this informational session, an expert speaker will give an overview of the Marketplace, the enrollment process and coverage considerations. Trained staff will be onsite to address questions and sign up attendees for coverage.
