Plane skids into trees at Hiatt Airport in Thomasville
A small airplane skidded into some trees Wednesday, July 24, while trying to take off at Hiatt Airport.
No one was injured when the single engine plane did not clear the runway and ended up in some trees about 11:16 a.m., said Larry James, Davidson County EMS director. Only the pilot was aboard.
There was a small fuel spill, but it was contained by emergency crews, James said.
