Weather permitting, crews with the N.C. Department of Transportation will begin paving operations tonight on Interstate 85 between N.C. 109 in Davidson County and the Randolph County line. The work will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. each weeknight. The work should be completed by Saturday, Sept. 28.

Crews will begin paving the northbound lanes tonight (Sept. 16).  The work will require the closure of two travel lanes, with one lane remaining open at all times. Crews will shift to the southbound lanes once the northbound paving is completed.
