“Winterfest has been a huge success!” said Joy Thompson, one of the partners in the business endeavor.

Winterfest is set up on the tennis courts of Central Recreation Center.

“Santa has visited. The rink has been full of happy families. The fire pit with s'mores has made many chocolate-faced children and the gingerbread house has had everyone going up to it to smell the wonderful ginger and cinnamon aroma.”

The Friday grand opening also included a 30-foot inflatable tubing slope. The 12-foot gingerbread house was baked by Sprinkle of Sugar, also owned by Thompson.

“It has been a special experience for our family to share with everyone. We feel very blessed to be in such a positive community,” said Thompson.

The  $10 admission includes skate rental. Winterfest, which runs through Dec. 29, is open every weeknight from 4 to 8 p.m. Weekend hours run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and from 2 to 8 p.m. Sundays.
