Can you almost taste them? Homegrown tomatoes big enough to cover a slice a bread. Yumm.
While locally grown tomatoes may not be in season yet, other in-season product will be available at the Farmers Market opening day — May 11. The market remains open through Oct. 12.
Throughout the season, farmers will sell locally grown, in-season produce, such as strawberries, blueberries, lettuce, onions, green beans, yellow squash, zucchini squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, peas, potatoes, cabbage and other varieties of vegetables. Church sponsored bake sales will be held at the Farmers Market on most Saturdays.
PACE  — People Achieving Community Enhancement — will be sell T-shirts, tote bags and raffle tickets for a handmade quilt  on most Saturdays. Information regarding the purchase of engraved brick pavers for PACE Park will also be available.
Special events are planned:
July 20: Tomato Madness.
Aug. 10:  Melon Mania.
Aug. 24: Craft Day.
Nov. 23 Holiday Harvest Market .
More special events are planned like a tomato sandwich suppeer and a farm-to-table dinner.
Saturday hours run from 8 a.m. to noon. The market also will be open Tuesdays from June 11 to Aug. 27. The hours run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
