“Say what you mean, mean what you say, but don't say it mean. A girl named Heather used to say that to me. We were just friends for a long time and she used to say it a lot, so I've said that to people (while working at Sunrise Diner). I actually just said that to someone who came in a little bit earlier.

“Be happy. Life is too short. A customer told me that one time. It was about two years ago when an older female came in and told me that. It has impacted me in that I try to be happy, even when bad things happen.”

“ Seek the Lord with all your heart (Deuteronomy 4:29). My daddy told me this when I was a little girl, and this passage has served me well. It has helped me to have a different outlook on life in that no matter what comes about, that God is greater than my circumstance when I keep my eye on Him.”
