Kacy Lee crowned Miss Thomasville

Every contestant displayed the true meaning of the Miss America organization during the Miss Thomasville and Miss Central Carolina pageants held Feb. 8, said pageant director Travis Green.

Kacy Lee was crowned Miss Thomasville and Victoria Huggins, Miss Central Carolina.  Hannah Welborn Lewis won Miss Thomasville’s Outstanding Teen and Tori Gross, Miss Central Carolina’s Outstanding Teen.

The Miss Thomasville and Miss Central Carolina Scholarship Pageants, along with the Thomasville's and  Central Carolina's Outstanding Teen pageants are preliminaries to the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant and ultimately to Miss America.

Six contestants sought the Miss Thomasville crown, six for the Miss Central Carolina crown and six for Outstanding Teen.

The Elizabeth Dar Litwin Spirit of Thomasville Award was  given to Jessica Coble. The award is named about the first Miss Thomasville.

“The committee is very excited for our winners and we are already preparing for the Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina's Outstanding Teen pageants that will be held this June in Raleigh,” he added.

MISS THOMASVILLE

• Hannah Webb and Katie Archer, tie for first runner-up.

• Hannah Webb, Community Service Award.

• Kacy Lee, talent and swimsuit.

MISS CENTRAL CAROLINA

• Rachel Gebelein, first runner-up.

• Victoria Huggins, talent and swimsuit.

MISS OUTSTANDING TEEN

• Tara Shippoff, first runner-up.

• Elizabeth O’Brien, second runner-up.

• Hannah Welborn Lewis, talent and fitness.

“The winners are very excited and ready to start working with all members of our community,” Green said. “They plan to take part in school activities and make an impact with city council as well as the chambers of commerce.”
