The Davidson County Department of Senior Services Senior Dynamics program will host the second annual Fit and Fun 3K Walk to support senior center programming Saturday, September 14.

Sponsored by Breeden Insurance Services, Inc., the event will be held at the Lexington Senior Center, 555-B West Center St. Ext.

Participants may walk on the outdoor trail surrounding Davidson County Government’s West Campus and at the completion of the walk,   lunch will be provided by Subway.  Registration for this fundraising event is $10, and all ages are welcome to participate.  Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m., and start time for the walk is 10  a.m.  The deadline to register is Sept. 12.

“September is National Senior Center Month,” said Christie Smith, Lexington Senior Center Manager, “and that is a perfect time to recognize the importance of the senior centers.  This 3K fundraiser will help us continue to provide programs and services to a growing senior adult population.”

Senior Services, a division of Davidson County Government, was established in 1975.  The organization's mission is to offer an array of programs and services to older adults regarding their well-being, independence, involvement in their community and the ability for them to remain in their own home.
