Marijuana, Xanax seized by deputies
A Lexington woman faces drug charges after the Davidson County Sheriff's Office Vice/Narcotics Unit completed an investigation at 164 Meadow Lane.
According to a press release, deputies on Sept. 24 seized 20 grams of marijuana and 17 Xanax tablets.
Lynn Greene Temple, 48, of the same address, was charged with possession of marijuana (between ½ to 1 ½ ounces), simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance (Xanax) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Temple received a $5,000 secured bond and has a court date of Oct. 30.
A random search Sept. 25 in the parking lot of North Davidson High School yielded a drug citation against a student.
According to the sheriff's office, the school resource officer and K-9 Halley were walking through the parking lot when the dog indicated on a vehicle.
Nicholas Lee McDowell, 17, of 212 Miriam Drive, Winston-Salem, was issued a citation for possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana. The court date is set for Oct. 23.
