Deputies allege man used Facebook to solicit juvenile girls
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office allege that a Lexington man was using Facebook to solicit juvenile girls.
Christopher Minerd, 21, of 1356 Jersey Church Road, faces multiple charges.
According to a press release from the Sheriff's Office, the Lexington Police Department in December 2012 stopped Minerd's vehicle for a traffic violation. At that time, the 14-year-old juvenile with him alleged that she had been in a sexual relationship with Minerd.
Minerd was arrested and charged with six counts of statutory rape and three counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Additional charges were filed in Feburary. Evidence obtained from a search warrant of Facebook.com revealed that Minerd had been using Facebook to contact several juveniles.
Minerd was charged with soliciting a juvenile to commit an unlawful sex act with a 13-year-old victim and soliciting a juvenile to commit an unlawful sex act with a 14-year-old victim.
Minerd is currently in the Davidson County Jail under a $25,000 secured bond with a court date of March 25.
