TPD charges five with motor vehicle theft

Thomasville Police Department arrested five people in connection to a pair of motor vehicle thefts.
According to a press release, officers at approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday responded to Circle Drive and Kenreed Drive to investigate a stranded vehicle. The  2011 Honda Accord was found to have been stolen from Winstton-Salem.
Following an investigation, officers arrested Joseph Tyreel Keels, 20, India Latrice Ivey, 19, Brandon Jamal Hoover, 22, Shawntavia Breana Sellars, 16, of 2887 Inca Court in Winston-Salem, and Jeremiah Dewayne Simes, 22. All five were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of burglary tools found inside the vehicle.
Further investigation revealed the individuals also were responsible for the theft of a Dodge Truck from Lake Drive East. Police located the truck in a nearby neighborhood and returned to its owner. The five suspects additionally were charged with motor vehicle theft and larceny from a motor vehicle.
All five suspects were placed in the Davidson County Jail and issued $50,000 secured bonds. They are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20.
