Power company poser faces charges
A man dressed as a power company employee faces charges in connection with the theft of copper.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, offices on July 10 responded to the 200 block of Hill Everhart Road in Lexington after someone reported that a person, dressed like a power company employee, was cutting copper off the side of a power pole, owned and maintained by Lexington Power Company.
In connection to the report, Alan Keith Ashley, 48, of 301 W. 3rd Ave. in Lexington, was arrested for stealing and possessing stolen copper wire. Ashley was given a $1,000 secured bond and a court date of Aug. 5.
