Two charged in jewelry theft

More than $40,000 worth of jewelry and tools were stolen from 3003 Sunshine Lane. Deputies with the Breaking and Entering Task Force began a investigation of the case on June 10.

In connection to the report,  two people were charged: Matthew Charles Everhart of 12504 Linwood-Southmont Road  and Nicole Marie Everhart from Mooresville, NC. Some Property was recovered from a local pawnshop.

Matthew Everhart was charged with five counts of felonious larceny, five counts of obtaining property by false pretense. In addition, he was served with two orders for arrest from Cumberland County for failure to appear and a criminal summons which alleges communicating threats. He received a secure bond of $5,700.

Nicole Everhart was charged with felonious larceny and obtaining property by false pretense. She received a $1,000 secured bond. Both have a court date of July 29.
