Two men charged in theft of scrap metal
A resident witnessed the theft of scrap metal from a residence at 5306 N.C. Hwy. 8 on Sept. 16.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Kelly Everhart alleges that Michael Lee Hughes, 46, and Quinton Trenta Henderson, 22, attempted to steal scrap metal from the property.
Several of the items had been contained in two separate outbuildings.
Hughes of 2427 Rockcrusher Road, Lexington, and Quinton of 807 W. 4th Ave., Lexington, were charged with two counts each of felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and attempted misdemeanor larceny. Hughes was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $5,000. secured bond and Henderson was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $7,500 secured bond. Both Michael and Quinton were given a court date of Oct. 11.
