Teen faces charges in connection to race car theft
A 16-year-old turned himself in to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office after being charged in connection with the October theft of a race car.
According to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, the victim on Old Hwy. 75 reported Oct. 29 that someone had broken into two of his locked, enclosed trailers and stolen a race car from one.
On Nov. 11, deputies received information that the vehicle was located at a residence on E. Old Hwy. 64. According to deputies, body panels were removed from the vehicle. Other stolen items were recovered at the residence, too.
On Nov. 16, detectives charged Dylan Corum. 5146 E. Old Hwy. 64, with felony larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of felony breaking and entering into motor vehicles and felony attempt to break and enter into a building.
On Nov. 17, Corum turned in himself and is currently behind held in the Davidson County Detention Center on a $2,000 secured bond. His court date is Dec. 3.
