Employee charged in connection to theft of brass, copper
An employee of the city of Lexington faces charges in connection with the theft of brass and copper stolen from the city’s water plant.
According to a press release from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, a break-in was reported at the water plant, 2929 Greensboro St. Extension, on March 26.
Brass and copper, valued at $3,000, had been stolen.
In connection with the report, Scotty Wayne Blevins, 39, of 681 Numa Byerly Road, Lexington, was charged with seven counts of larceny by employee and seven counts of obtaining property by false pretenses.
He was placed in the Davidson County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond with a court date of April 23.
