Lexington man faces child pornography charges
Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit on Aug. 22 charged Donald Stuart Koontz, 51, of 503 Queens Drive in Lexington with 10 counts of felony disseminating obscenity and 10 counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The arrest was made with the help of the Lexington Police Department Vice Narcotics Unit, Thomasville Police Department Vice Narcotics Unit, members of the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Agency and members of the Department of Homeland Security.
Investigators executed a search warrant at 503 Queens Drive in Lexington after child pornography was downloaded from the Internet.
According to the press release, detectives seized computers, hard drives and other data storage devices which contained numerous pornographic images involving children.
Koontz was given a $2,025,000 secured bond and a court date of Sept. 24.
