TRAFFICKING

Shannon Alcon, 34, of 579 Embler Road in Thomasville, faces multiple drug charges following an investigation by the  Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit.

According to a press release, a drug investigation was conducted Nov. 25 at 8275 S. Hwy. 109 near Thomasville.

Alcon was charged with four counts of trafficking opium / heroin (Oxycodone), possession with intent to sell a schedule IV drug (Alprazolam), maintaining a vehicle for sales of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Detectives seized 120 oxycodone pills and 89 Alprazolam pills. Alcon was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

SEX OFFENSE

A Denton man faces sex offense charges in connection with a juvenile. 

According to a press release from Chief Mark Hicks of the Denton Police Department, the alleged incidents occurred between 2006-2013. The report was filed Oct. 2.

Christopher Michael Drye, 38, was arrested on Nov. 20 and charged with first degree sex offense and indecent liberties with a minor. He was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Lexington District Court on Jan. 10

POSSESSION

A Ledford High School student faces drug charges following a tip from another student. According to a press release, school administrators on Nov. 26 found less than a half ounce of marijuana in the possession of Alexander Manuel Rios, 16, of Winston-Salem. He was charged with possession of a schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
