Stolen checks passed in Triad

A victim reported July 14 that numerous checks were stolen from 1906 Academy Drive in Lexington sometime in June and passed at several Food Lion and Walmart stores in the Triad area, including High Point. 

According to Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Amanda Kristin Hooker, 24, 1029 Eller Road, Lexington, daughter of the victim, was charged Sept. 25 with four counts of identity theft,   obtaining property by false pretense, and one count of misdemeanor larceny.

Hooker was held in the Davidson County Jail under a $7,500 secured bond. The court date is set for Oct.28,
