Deputies seize nine pounds of marijuana

An investigation by the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics unit led to the seizure of nine pounds of marijuana.

According to a press release, the investigation was conducted on Jan. 7 at 310 Cascade Drive in High Point, where detectives located 59 marijuana plants. Detectives also located two handguns and several items of drug paraphernalia. Several rooms inside the residence had been modified to facilitate the manufacture and growth of marijuana.

Detectives arrested Anthony Lee Stanley, 41, of the same address, and charged him with trafficking marijuana by possession, trafficking marijuana by manufacturing, manufacturing a schedule  VI, maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Stanley was placed in the Davidson County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond. Stanley has a court date of Feb. 27 in Lexington.
